      Socrates Cafe

      FREE and Open to All.  We gather to ask questions about an agreed upon topic.   Please note we ONLY meet on the 1st & 3rd Saturdays!  Also, please enter through the back door at Ward 6.      All are invited to the post-Socrates Cafe at Fronimo's.     Socrates Café are gatherings around the world where people from different backgrounds get together and exchange philosophical perspectives based on their experiences, using the version of the Socratic Method developed by founder Christopher Phillips. The groups model their discussions from the book of the same name by Christopher Phillips and a guide he also developed. Today, there are hundreds of such gatherings, coordinated by volunteers, worldwide.[1]      The Philosophy of 'Socrates Cafes'   C-SPAN video: Socrates Cafe Christopher Phillips discussed his book Socrates Cafe: A Fresh Taste of Philosophy, published by W. W. Norton. The book tells the story of his Socrates Cafe philosophical meetings, discussion groups he founded for people to examine each other’s viewpoints using the Socratic method of inquiry. After the discussion, Mr. Phillips answered questions from the audience.
